Visualization Analyst

Location: Austin, TX - Full-Time

Work Model: Hybrid (Remote & In-Person, Austin area preferred)

The Role

SourceDay (voted best place to work for 2024 by Built In Austin) is gearing up for significant growth, and we're seeking a Visualization Analyst passionate about transforming data into actionable insights to help fuel it. This role requires building, designing, and developing both internal and external analytics and reporting products. Reporting directly to the Sr Director of Data Science and Analytics, you'll play a crucial role in empowering decision-makers with the data they need to succeed.

What success looks like

This role is key to our product growth initiatives and will result in impactful, user-friendly analytics and reporting tools being delivered to internal stakeholders. You will also contribute to the next generation of SourceDay dashboards that are adopted by our customers. 

Some of your responsibilities will include

• Own the full lifecycle of analytics and reporting products, from requirement gathering and design to development and delivery.
• Deliver custom analyses using SQL to solve critical business challenges.
• Build and maintain standardized metrics and KPIs.
• Design and develop intuitive, informative dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Leverage the latest tools and techniques in data visualization to present complex data in an accessible manner.
• Collaborate closely with the Data Science team to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Works with UI / UX teams to ensure consistency across reports and dashboards

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Proven experience in a similar capacity, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in data visualization and analytics.
• Strong proficiency with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong proficiency with databases (SQL).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms.
• A collaborative spirit, able to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
