Penstock is searching for a Director, Client Management reporting to the Director, Client Management and Operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of 4 accountable for the delivery of critical projects, with both internal- and external-facing responsibilities. The Director is assigned ownership of all accounts and is responsible for understanding how each client is using Penstock solutions and helping them maximize the potential of our services. The successful candidate will provide oversight and coordinate the effort of team members to deliver services to our clients. The candidate will lead and motivate a team of Project Directors, Project Managers, and support staff; develop and implement company-wide processes and procedures while providing guidance and leadership throughout a project’s lifecycle. This candidate will also provide thought leadership and project portfolio-level reporting to Penstock’s Leadership Team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understand client needs and timelines, set deadlines, prioritize tasks, and assign team members to various deliverables
  • Actively participate in required team meetings and provide feedback and updates to the team
  • Participate in regular client-facing and internal meetings
  • Define, communicate, and execute the vision and strategies for effective delivery, by drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes
  • Regular collaboration with multiple department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects
  • Proactively monitor the progress of projects and intervene in the project Using the Deming cycle of plan-do-check-act (PDCA) and Risk management to ensure that team members carry out tasks and deliverables efficiently while upholding company standards
  • Identify & document potential risks and issues, and in conjunction with the project team, determine mitigation strategies
  • Manage the client’s quality expectations
  • Generate timelines, estimate revenue and costs, and ensure projects meet the needs of the clients
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, monitor receivables, and monitor project financials to ensure profit margins are maintained
  • Inform leadership of changes to project initiatives/statuses, resolve and/or escalate project issues, as necessary
  • Develop and lead the project management team, periodically reviewing team member’s performance
  • Manage the training needs and lead the efforts to ensure team members receive appropriate training and/or development, as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
