Perform general manufacturing maintenance duties with direction of the department Manager. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions / Duties : Maintain all mold and mold ancillary systems in good working order Maintain all production change parts and assemblies Maintain control and storage of all molds and mold components Perform mold core / cavity changeovers Perform minor repairs using tool room equipment Requisition mold spare parts and maintain spare parts inventory.
Requisition major mold repairs and maintenance for offsite work. Prepare molds for production as per schedule. Provide input to Production and QC manager regarding mold status report.
Maintain tool room equipment and tool room housekeeping. Operate overhead crane safely to handle mold transport Operate tool room hoists safely for mold assemble and disassembly Troubleshoot manufacturing machines and assemblies Equipment Used : Mills, Lathes, Welders, Multi-meters, hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, compressors, boilers, snow thrower, shovels, pickup truck, chillers, towers, lift truck, baler, compactor, etc.
Unusual Conditions : Frequent dirty work, outside elements (cold & heat) Qualifications Requirements : Good knowledge of plastic blow mold design.
Working knowledge of mold systems including : Extruder, and Extrusion control Cooling design and function, Hydraulic design and function Pneumatic design and function Ancillary equipment controls and sensors Good Knowledge of machine tool operation including : Lathe work Mill work Surface grinder operation Basic welding Other basic machine tools Excellent problem solving and communication skills Ability to follow instructions from department leaders Knowledge of general maintenance functions such as manufacturing equipment maintenance and carpentry maintenance level tasks.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, various types of meters, etc. Proficient written and verbal skill to include reading blueprints, schematic, diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications, etc.
Ability to navigate and use maintenance software. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Follow all security protocols by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
