Job Description:
The Accounting Analyst II will be responsible for preparing the investor reporting of securitized trusts, credit facilities, and loan pools along with any related general ledgering or financial statements. This position will be responsible for maintaining strong and relevant accounting principles to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external clients. This position is subject to tight deadlines and addresses a wide variety of reporting activities including month-end processing, database management, financial reporting, and year-end audit support preparation.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform accounting and financial reporting functions as assigned including, but not limited to the booking and reconciliation of securitized trust transactions and credit facility activity. Resolve any variances through account analyses on a regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly investor reporting for securitized trusts, credit facilities, and asset loan pools along with supporting schedules for quarterly reviews, taxes, audit, and board presentations.
  • Provide assistance to the Financial Reporting Manager on both internal and external audits.
  • Business owner of portfolio related workflows. Partner with IT to develop and enhance current and future portfolio databases.
  • Proactively work with the team to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Streamline monthly processes that are used among Finance, Accounting, and IT.
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as assigned.
  • Increased ability from Accounting Analyst to:
    • Complete tasks and resolve issues with a lower level of manager oversight.
    • Lead projects and objectives for improving operational efficiencies.
    • Perform comprehensive analyst training.
    • Identify, research, and resolve variances in more complex situations.
    • Proactively contribute to improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness.
Education & Other Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Accounting or Finance preferred. Information Systems background is a plus.
  • 3 years of Accounting experience, with 3 years of directly relevant experience such as within the financial services industry or structured finance space.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel. Ability to understand and modify SQL queries.
  • Analytical skills and thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts to achieve a positive outcome. Able to work independently in a team environment without close supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as attentiveness to details and a commitment to follow up. Able to effectively manage several tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness/ability to work late hours when faced with tight deadlines.
