Epoch Geoservices, LLC is Hiring a Wellsite Geologist Near Roosevelt, UT

Epoch Geoservices has spent the past four years studying the Uintah Basin's oil and gas operations while paving the way for in-field wellsite geology practices that assist in new possibilities for geology and energy production.

We are seeking new or experienced geologists who want to be part of our highly technical operations in Wellsite Petroleum Geology. Whether you are already an experienced Wellsite Geologist or a new graduate, we are looking for individuals who are interested in further exploring the current frontier of Petroleum Geology while setting the standard of wellsite geology and mudlogging.

As a primary Geoscience Mudlogging provider in the Uintah Basin, we aim to focus on growth in the quality of our service and extent of our operations. This position relies heavily on the ability of the candidate to join our existing team and learn from the ground up the on-site mudlogging standards, committing to providing a high tier of wellsite geology in the oil field. During training, you will be overseen by highly trained Geoscientists within the Basin and be provided with a wealth of hands-on technical training.

Our industry leading equipment allows us to provide highly analytical consultations for our clients and assist with the detailed lithology documentation while mudlogging. Wellsite duties include advising on target optimization, geology oversight during drilling operations, interfacing with operations geologists, monitoring wellbore stability, and more. Proficiency in Gas analysis with Mass Spectrometry, X-Ray Fluorescence, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Structural Geology, and Sample identification are examples of standard skills obtained while working on-site.

These positions start as 12-hour mudlogger shifts running from 6 AM/PM to 6 PM/AM, and a well typically lasts around nine days with five days in between when assigned to a well. We are flexible with scheduling to a certain extent, so if you have any concerns, please ask us. We primarily operate in the Rocky Mountain region, specifically Utah, and compensate for travel as well as per diem expenses.

Preference: High aptitude with computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new software. Location is important, this is a remote travel job with most (not all) of our work near Roosevelt, Utah. We prefer hires to live in Utah or its surrounding states, however we will consider others depending on qualifications. Willingness to learn our proven methodologies is crucial. ***Looking for applicants currently living in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico or Nevada.
