Long Island Power Solutions is Hiring a Solar Site Surveyor Near , NY

Summary:

As a site surveyor, you will be integrally involved with the process of helping customers go solar. The site surveyor is responsible for taking accurate measurements inside and outside of our client’s properties, as well as using a drone. You will strive to provide safe electrical systems for a variety of customers. Therefore, having the ability to effectively communicate with our client’s and answer questions and concerns about going solar is imperative.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· The Site Surveyor conducts a physical site assessment for prospective customers using a variety of company provided tools and equipment, including, but not limited to, measuring devices, drones, hand tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, etc.

· Responsible for taking accurate measurements inside and outside of client’s properties, and effectively communicating with customers.

· Communicate the necessary project information (roof dimensions, evaluate electrical equipment, determine where to put the solar equipment, and determine the property’s structural integrity) to the project managers for the preparation of permit ready documents.

· Document the project site with photos.

· Have the ability to perform basic and precise measurements on roofs.

· Comply with regulations and code compliance as directed by state and local governments.

· Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations.

· Complete surveys and upload information on a timely basis.

· Coordinate with the field operations team.

· Work in outdoor conditions, inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures.

· Have visual acuity to drive motor vehicles, use necessary equipment, and read printed and electronic documents.

· Other tasks, as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education:

· High School or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or building services.

· 1-2 Years related experience.

· Clean driver's license.

· Basic knowledge of residential electrical and structural systems.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

· Excellent organizational skills to manage both paper and electronic photos and files.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle to travel to and from job sites.

· Work different schedules that involve Mondays – Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

· Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.

· OSHA 10 Certification, preferred.

· Understanding of NEC codes with an emphasis on residential PV installation, preferred.

· Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications, preferred.

· Proficiency with drones, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to move and climb a ladder from vehicle to each property.

· Work on various roof types and heights which include but are not limited to steep roofs, metal roofs, comp shingle, tile, etc.

· Must be physically able to enter into and work in attics.

· Climb stairs, bend at the knees, twist, reach and be on both feet for extended periods of time.

· Walk for long periods of time.

· Use one or two hands to grasp, move or assemble objects.

· Fly a drone, and look up for periods of time to obtain overhead photos.

· While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side.

· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

· Have a driver's license, with a clean driving record.

· Work in multiple weather conditions which include but are not limited to, wet weather, snow, extreme heat.

· Understand the speech of another person.

· Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
