Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Grooming Apprentice to join our team. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing grooming services to our furry clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. There will be a six month training program and you will be on a sliding scale on hourly or commission whichever is greater. Commission will increase as you finish training and gain experience. Tips will be included after training is concluded. You will be required to sign an agreement stating you will be with the company for x amount of time, if you leave before the time is up, you will owe a certain amount of money for training.

Duties:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, and ear cleaning
- Assess the condition of pets' coats, skin, and overall health
- Handle and restrain animals safely and securely during grooming sessions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing clients' concerns and answering questions about grooming techniques and products
- Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming session

Skills:
- Strong animal handling skills to ensure the safety and comfort of pets during grooming sessions
- Knowledge of dog training techniques to assist with behavior management during grooming
- Ability to lift heavy objects, such as large dogs or grooming equipment
- Excellent animal care skills, including recognizing signs of stress or illness in pets
- Become proficient in various grooming techniques for different breeds and coat types
- Effective dog handling skills to ensure the safety of both the groomer and the pet
- Outstanding customer service skills to provide a positive experience for clients
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is a plus
