**Position Summary**

Veit has an immediate opening for an Industrial Painter/Sandblaster in Rogers, MN. The Industrial Painter/Sandblaster performs routine and preventive maintenance painting duties, occasional sandblasting, and a full range of specialized painting. Prior experience is not necessary. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Performs routine and preventative maintenance, painting, and sandblasting duties.

* Prepares equipment to be painted including bending, pulling, pushing, shaping, and straightening required to repair/refurbish equipment.

* Performs painting & sandblasting duties as needed.

* Operates forklift.

* Maintains paint shop inventory.

* Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces.

* Maintains a clean workspace. Responsible for keeping shop clean.

* Keep supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform tasks at Transfer Station or adversely affect Company operations.

* Other projects or duties as assigned by management.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Willingness and ability to perform manual work.

* Ability to comply with safety precautions and procedures.

* Ability to operate sandblasting/painting tools and equipment, or ability to learn.

* Ability to communicate orally and in writing with management, employees, external vendors and other business associates.

* Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Must have good interpersonal skills.

* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency as required by management and/or project requirements.

**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

* OSHA 10 is preferred but not required.

* First Aid/CPR is preferred but not required.

* Welding experience is preferred but not required.

**Other**

* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

* Position requires 8 to 12-hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed.

* Must be at least 18 years of age.
