Description

UCFS is looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others! We are currently seeking a full-time Vice President of Behavioral Services who will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Behavioral Health division of UCFS and aiding the Chief Medical Officer in formulating and administering organizational policies and procedures. Our Behavioral Health Services (BHS) division is comprised of outpatient individual, group, and family therapy, outpatient psychiatry, and community-based behavioral health services.

Essential Responsibilities -

Administration and Operations – 

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the BHS division. Develops and monitors procedures to meet access to care (“productivity”) and financial performance goals set forth annually for the BHS division. 
  • Ensures adequate staffing and supervision of behavioral health clinicians are maintained. 
  • Responsible for clinical leadership in the BHS division, and with the CMO, provides advice/counsel the CEO, Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership on clinical, program, and regulatory matters. Participates as the senior BHS division representative in meetings with funders, government officials, other organizations, as well as internal cross-departmental collaborations. (note: clinical supervision of psychiatry personnel is directed by the Chief Medical Officer) 
  • Seeks out and prepares grants for submission in collaboration with grant and finance staff to further UCFS BHS division services. Oversees the performance of grant-funded programs and services to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and that grant deliverables are met.

Clinical Quality –

  • Monitors quality of care provided for all services delivered in the BHS division to meet or exceed benchmarks. Builds and maintains a team that aligns with providing care following a medical home model.
  • Actively collaborates with CMO in the planning and evaluation of Agency programs and in the development of new integrative services and efficacy of services delivered

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintains knowledge of all regulatory requirements related to the provision of BHS outpatient and community-based services. Ensures compliance with practice and payment regulations.

Training, Education and Certification -

  • Oversees the necessary training and certification requirements for all BHS division staff are met. Facilitates timely credentialing and privileging of licensed staff in collaboration with the Human Resources and Billing departments.
  • Oversees the operation of UCFS behavioral health services Master’s intern training program.

Strategy and Innovation -

  • As a member of the Senior Management Team, recommends long range goals and objectives for the BHS division that align with the UCFS strategic plan. Monitors and reports on their achievement using operational, financial, and quality data.
  • Maintains knowledge of new and innovative evidence-based practices and develops service lines to bring those innovations to UCFS clients and patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or professional counseling required
  • Ten years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in an outpatient behavioral health setting
  • Experience in a federally qualified health center preferred
  • Experience serving Medicaid and low-income populations required
  • Current certification as a Connecticut LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
  • All employees at UCFS are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19
