We are currently seeking a Trust Administrator to join our Vancouver team in our Accounting department.

This position is for a team player who is proactive with a strong work ethic, can handle a busy workload, and who has a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong client service focus, the ability to multi-task, have solid analytical and organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the administration of trust deposits and disbursements in accordance with Law Society Rules;
  • Maintain accurate records of all trust transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, investments, and transfers;
  • Serve as a point of contact for all staff levels, contacts for financial institutions and clients regarding trust-related inquiries and transactions;
  • Respond to queries regarding trust funds including, but not limited to, client identification/verification, discrepancies in balances and inactive trust funds;
  • Facilitate the opening and closing of trust investment accounts;
  • Ensure compliance by staying up to date on trust accounting regulations and standards set forth by the Law Societies and assist with completing annual trust audits;
  • Perform basic Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable coverage;
  • Some overtime may be required during peak season;
  • Perform other duties as required.

What you'll bring:

  • An aptitude for administrative processes, and quality control;
  • Previous work experience in a legal environment is an asset;
  • Previous trust experience is an asset;
  • Able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions as required;
  • Must have intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Advanced level communications, both verbal and written;
  • Critical thinker;
  • Resourceful;
  • Aptitude to learn quickly, particularly in relation to software, processes, programs, etc.;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Keen desire to take on new challenges with a positive attitude;
  • Professional manner in communicating with others;
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills.

The salary range for this position is $58,000-$65,000 per annum, dependent on years/relevance of individual experience.
