Akkodis is looking for a Sr. Packaging Engineer in the Hartwell, GA location for one of the leading brands in the Food industry.

Ideally, as a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating packaging process engineering functions across all aspects of packaging equipment, specifically focusing on secondary packaging for Packing Line 3 products in-house. You will apply your expertise in food processing technology to ensure the appropriate selection of equipment technologies to meet the production.

Here are the specs of the role:

Pay Rate: $60-65 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide packaging engineering process design and review for capital projects, including detailed phases of engineering work, documentation, and field support.
• Coordinate work by outside consultants and suppliers, leveraging broad knowledge of standards, principles, and practices in packaging specialties.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and provide technical assistance to operating facilities, including investigating and analyzing problem areas and opportunities for packaging and process enhancements.
• Apply expert understanding of line balancing, equipment specification, vendor coordination, factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing.
• Assist in the development and modification of department technical guidelines, standards, and specifications.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

Basic Qualifications (Minimum):

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of packaging equipment engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment, with a strong focus on secondary packaging for Packing Line 3 products in-house.
• OHSA certification, Project Management (e.g., PMP/PMI), LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt).
• Proficiency in Project Portfolio Management tools (PPM e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), Layout software (e.g., AutoCAD, PackML), and Process Flow (e.g., Visio).

Steel toe shoes are required and to be provided by the worker at their own expense.

Up to 30% travel required to equipment suppliers, construction sites, and other client factories.
