Job Description
The Sr. CAD Operator works as part of the Sales & Marketing Team to support Bonnell in supporting existing customers, acquiring new business, and achieving group Key Result Areas (see below). The primary responsibilities of the Sr. CAD Operator include designing and processing approval prints, providing support to Customer Account Representatives (CAR) on die data, and working with manufacturing to coordinate changes in product design as needed. The primary software utilized is AutoCAD to create 2D drawings while occasionally using Inventor and/or SolidWorks to extract 2D data from 3D models. Sr. CAD Operators will also assist with quoting and quote follow-up communications with customers and act as another resource to the Sales & Marketing Team.
Functional Specific Activities:

• Make extrusion die drawings for customer approval.
• Re-engineer products with customer input for more reliable/consistent extrusions
• Follow-up to confirm that customer has received approval prints.
• Produce preliminary drawings for quotation.
• Modify existing customer drawings.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other equipment to create drawings from samples.
• Interpret manufacturing needs and concerns and discussing with the customer.
• Produce drawing for prospect quotations.
• Performs other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience:

• CAD/Drafting Diploma, Training and/or Certification or equivalent industry experience
• Knowledge of mechanical drafting and principles
• 3 years Auto-CAD/ drawing experience
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
• Results-oriented and customer-focused
• Motivated self-starter who can manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision.

Desired Experience:

• Aluminum extrusion experience
• 5 years AutoCAD experience
• Inventor/Solidworks experience
