Volunteer in your community with Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary is an all-volunteer force that provides assistance to Troopers in the course of their duties. Auxiliary officers ride with Troopers on road patrol along with working other details such as at OSU football games, the Ohio State Fair, and emergency callouts. Among the duties of OSHP Auxiliary officers are crash scene and traffic stop assistance, traffic control, disaster relief and special detail support.
Applicants are required to pass a medical examination and physical tests, then complete OSHP Auxiliary training. Applicants are accepted between the ages of 18 and 57.
