The Commissioning Specialist will be part of Ensign Energy Drilling Solutions, a small team responsible for the planning, design and field installation of drilling rig automation and controls, and based in Houston, Texas.
The Commissioning Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all systems and components of the drilling rig controls are properly installed and thoroughly tested according to specification and customer expectations. This position will use technical and analytical skills to assist in the development, deployment, and maintenance of drilling rig automation systems and applications in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position will take a leadership role on deployment of projects, provide technical consulting, develop electrical controls systems, and provide remote technical support across Ensigns global drilling divisions. The Commissioning Specialist is also responsible for testing and troubleshooting drilling performance optimization systems in the field. The successful candidate will be required to travel more than 50% of the time to Ensign's field offices, rig construction facilities and drilling rigs working in the field. This position reports directly to the Drilling Solutions Operations Manager.
