Congressional School is Hiring an After Care Counselor Near Falls Church, VA
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a fun and safe aftercare experience for students
- Plan and implement activities
- Actively supervise students by interacting with them through indoor and outdoor play to ensure the safety of each child and encourage their participation in activities.
- Help prepare and serve snacks, including sitting with children and assisting them as needed
- Report to assigned duties such as study hall, playground, and crosswalk in a timely manner
- Alert proper personnel about hazards and general upkeep
- Meet and/or exceed all licensing standards
- Recognize the individual needs of each child including medical and behavioral concerns
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families
- Actively support the School's vision, mission and core values
- Receive sixteen hours of Early Childhood Education training every 12 months
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Six months of experience working with children
- Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Strong initiative and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- An ability to work in a joyful, collegial and collaborative environment
- A sense of humor, warm personality, and growth mindset
