Position Overview: As the Bookstore Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our operations, responsible for a wide range of tasks including staff management, merchandising, financial management, customer service, inventory control, and overall business operations. You'll work closely with the team to ensure a delightful experience for our customers while driving sales and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Recruit, train, schedule, and provide performance feedback for bookstore staff.

· Collaborate with colleagues to create captivating displays and merchandise promotions.

· Manage budget, track sales performance, and ensure accountability for sales targets.

· Oversee the implementation and utilization of POS systems to optimize business functions.

· Devise and execute strategies to increase sales and coordinate events and marketing campaigns.

· Foster a positive customer experience by providing excellent service and resolving issues promptly.

· Monitor inventory levels, track sales trends, and ensure accurate ordering and pricing of items.

· Establish and maintain security standards, safety measures, and operational procedures.

· Stay updated on industry trends, book releases, and market changes to inform business decisions.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years of retail/general management experience, preferably in a bookstore environment.

· Demonstrated expertise in staff management, inventory control, and merchandising.

· Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and achieving sales goals.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Passion for books and reading, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

· Proficiency in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.

· Capacity to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with the team.

· Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift boxes up to 50 pounds.
