Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Plumbers Helper. As a Plumbers Helper, you will assist our experienced plumbers in various tasks related to plumbing and construction projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in the plumbing industry and wants to gain hands-on experience.
- Follow the direction of the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, and complete the work assigned to you in the given timeframe.
- Be prepared to assist the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, to complete the tasks required to install the plumbing systems. This includes but is not limited to:
A. General cleanup.
B. General labor.
C. Material handling.
D. Operation of all hand and power tools necessary to complete your work.
E. Assist the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, in layout and installation of underground and above slab DWV systems including solvent weld PVC and CPVC, hub and spigot cast iron, no-hub cast iron, and fusion and mechanical joint acid waste.
F. Assist the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, in layout and installation of underground and above slab pressure piping systems including solvent weld PVC and CPVC, copper piping systems with solder, brazed, or press joint connections, copper T-drill systems, threaded or welded steel pipe and fittings, and fusion joint HDPE or otherwise plastic piping systems.
G. Assist with fixture installation.
H. Assist the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, in equipment layout & installation including water heaters, storage tanks, circulating pumps, booster systems, sump pumps, air compressors, vacuum pumps, & solar panels.
3. Notify the plumbing superintendent or plumber you are working with of the material you need to complete your tasks prior to needing the material.
4. Learn not just how systems are put together but how they operate as well.
5. OSHA Safety – 10-hour course
Assist the plumbing superintendent, or plumber you are working with, in receipt of deliveries. Help verify that the quantity and manufacturer of the material received matches the quantity and manufacturer of the material on Purchase Orders and approved submittals.
