The Patient Safety Companion reports to the Staffing Office and Hospital Supervisors to obtain unit assignments. Under general supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Patient Safety Companion monitors the patient closely at all times and never leaves the patient alone to ensure patient safety. This role assists patients with activities of daily living and performs other general patient care duties as directed by the Registered Nurse. The Patient Safety Companion notifies the Registered Nurse immediately of any patient concerns. When not functioning as a Patient Safety Companion, this role provides clerical support for the nurse’s station as assigned
