SUMMARY: The People and Culture (P&C) Generalist plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless onboarding/off-boarding process, managing employee compensation and benefits, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and fostering positive employee relations. The P&C Generalist will be responsible for handling a wide range of HR functions and serving as a valuable resource for employees and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and execute the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Conduct new employee orientations, ensuring that all relevant integration activities and information about KRA (policies, procedures, and engagement and development opportunities) is effectively communicated.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that all necessary new hire tasks are completed, such as issuing of company property, supplies and granting system access on or before the employee’s first day of work.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits. Process any required benefit forms, communicate benefit options to employees, and serve as the main point of contact for benefit-related inquiries.
  • Conduct regular reviews and analysis of the company’s compensation structure, ensuring it remains competitive and aligned with industry standards. Collaborate with the People and Culture Manager and Accounting Department to develop and update salary ranges, job classifications, and pay scales. Assist in the design and implementation of new compensation programs, such as merit increase guidelines, bonus plans, and equity programs.
  • Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure company-wide compliance. Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, conduct audits, and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices. Ensures compliance with government mandated rules and regulations including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and other applicable HR laws.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees and management on HR-related matters. Address employee concerns, assist in the investigation of complaints, and facilitate conflict resolution. Promote a positive work environment and foster effective employee relations.
  • Support the performance management process by assisting with goal setting, providing guidance on performance evaluations, and facilitating performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and insights from departing employees, identifying trends and areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that all necessary offboarding tasks are completed, such as returning company property, revoking system access, and updating employee records.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and generate reports as needed. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare HR metrics and reports for management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work occasional weekend hours and travel approximately 20% time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
  • At least five years of human resource generalist experience required.
  • Current SHRM-CP, SCP, SPHR, PHR or related human resource certification highly preferred
  • Certification in DEIBA highly preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
