Job Description

We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join our growing data science team. The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing and interpreting large-scale biological datasets, with a strong background in computational biology, statistics, and programming. As this position will work closely with all of our different scientific and business teams, we place a high value on communication and collaboration. The ability to work independently and efficiently is paramount.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret large-scale biological datasets using computational tools and statistical methods
  • Develop and implement algorithms for data analysis and visualization
  • Collaborate with other members of the biology, detection, and business teams to integrate bioinformatics analyses with other data sources
  • Communicate findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies in bioinformatics, molecular biology, agriculture, and other relevant fields

Requirements

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in bioinformatics analysis of large-scale datasets
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as D3.js or ggplot2
  • Knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics data analysis techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of plant biology, agriculture, or remote sensing a huge plus

Benefits

The US base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000 benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
