Part-time District Administrator

Our small team of dedicated teachers and support staff are looking for equally caring and committed administrative staff to run the operations of our school district. Each employee is an integral part of the educational team and plays a vital role in making sure each child is understood, respected and able to learn and flourish.

Pinehurst School District 94 is located in the mountains 21 miles east of Ashland, Oregon. The campus is surrounded by forest and is situated in the 114,000-acre Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. Pinehurst campus plays a fundamental role in community events throughout the year.

As one of the smallest districts in the state, Pinehurst School educates kindergarten through 8th grade and estimates enrollment of 15-20 students in 2022-23.

Summary: We are looking for a motivated person to join our administrative team, two highly qualified teachers, and a small support staff to manage the operations of our 114-year-old school district. Pinehurst School serves approximately
15-20 students in our rural district. The school is the heart of our Greensprings community.

Job Description: The part-time District Administrator provides the oversight of managing a small school district and school board processes, policy maintenance, educational leadership, district strategic planning, supervision of district staff, and community and public relations. Responsibilities include supervision of the operations of the school and school district, standard maintenance and reporting, attending and facilitating all board meetings, applying all laws, rules and regulations regarding the administration of the school in manner consistent with their intent, coordinating district plans and goals, and working with all staff and board to ensure the smooth running of the district and academic program. The position requires daily problem-solving skills and the ability to work with interruptions, continuous deadlines, and requests for information. Must be able to prioritize projects, work independently and show initiative and inventiveness for learning and performing the job.

Qualifications: The District Administrator must have knowledge of standard office practices and procedures and some knowledge of the operations of a school district. The ideal candidate would be a retired school administrator that would like an opportunity to work part-time providing administrative and educational leadership for a unique and rural school district. A master’s in teaching and five or more years of experience in school leadership is required. The position requires excellent communication and management skills, the ability to interpret and condense government documents, regulations, rules and requirements and the ability to operate standard office machines. The candidate should understand the budgeting process along with using a high degree of independent judgment, initiative and accuracy.

Compensation: $30,700.00 annually. Start date July 1, 2022. Limited training hours beginning in May. Benefits include employer paid PERS. This position does not include medical insurance.

Pinehurst School District 94 is located 21 miles east of Ashland, OR on state-maintained Greensprings Highway 66, in the midst of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument at 3600 ft. elevation.
