Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. Your expertise in medical coding, terminology, and billing systems will be essential in maximizing reimbursement and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes (ICD-10) for diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, resolving any billing discrepancies or issues
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to address billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with the billing team to identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies
