The modern approach to a la carte dining highlights classic techniques, flavors & ingredients all influenced by French cuisine. SUMMARY: Bar Lesieur is seeking an experienced Maitre D to run the book of reservations & help promote seamless service during dinner shifts. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Reception:

    • Warmly welcome guests as they arrive at the establishment.
    • Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable.
  2. Reservation Management:

    • Manage reservation systems, ensuring accurate booking and seating arrangements.
    • Confirm reservations and handle any changes or cancellations.
  3. Seating Arrangements:

    • Organize seating arrangements to optimize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
    • Handle special requests and accommodate preferences whenever possible.
  4. Communication:

    • Act as a liaison between guests and restaurant staff.
    • Communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
  5. Customer Service:

    • Provide attentive and personalized service to all guests.
    • Address any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  6. Staff Coordination:

    • Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
    • Provide guidance and support to the front-of-house team.
  7. Maintaining Standards:

    • Ensure that the dining area is clean, organized, and properly set up.
    • Uphold the establishment's standards of service and presentation.
  8. Upselling and Promotion:

    • Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to guests.
    • Encourage upselling and suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience.
  9. Training and Development:

    • Train new staff members on proper procedures and protocols.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve team performance.
  10. Administrative Tasks:

    • Maintain records of reservations, guest preferences, and feedback.
    • Handle billing and payment processing when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems and basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is often preferred.
