Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the General Manager of River Camp Café, this team member will be responsible for preparing, smoking and cooking delicious barbecue meats, including brisket, pork, turkey, and sausage, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional guest satisfaction. Daily duties of the position include:

• Operate and maintain smokers, ovens and all related equipment
• Monitor cooking temperatures and adjust as needed to ensure optimal results
• Season, trim, and marinate meats using a variety of rubs and sauces
• Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and service
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area
• Assist with meal preparation readiness as required
• Train and educate staff in the basics of meat smoking and preparation

Qualifications:
High School diploma is required. Must be at least 18 years old. Some prior grill and meat smoking experience preferred, with at least solid knowledge of intermediate barbecue technics for multiple meats, including prepping, seasoning, smoking, trimming, grilling, slow cooking, and the use of related cooking equipment. This position requires such knowledge in advance, and it will be expected. Candidates must have great multitasking skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lift 25 lbs. or more, and stand and walk for extended periods of time. The position can require some weekend and holiday availability, and successful candidates will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug test. This is a benefitted position. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with a base wage rate of $17.50 per hour.
