Special Olympics Brand is Hiring a Manager, Leadership Research & Development Near Washington, DC

Position Title: Manager, Leadership Research & Development

Position Type: Part Time

Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid; 2-3 days/week in office and 2-3 days/week remote)

Department: Leadership and Organizational Development

Reports to: Senior Manager, Family Engagement

Description:

The Manager, Leadership Research & Development will join the Leadership and Organizational Development department to fulfill research, evaluation, data analysis and curriculum development needs within these areas of work: Family Engagement, Unified Leadership, Athlete Leadership, and Strategic Operations. This position will also be a thought leader, providing insight, solutions, and ideas in research and evaluation discussions, as well as work collaboratively with many teams across Special Olympics International. The Manager will combine skills of research, data evaluation, communication, thought leadership and resource development to ensure successful delivery of partner and funder commitments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement measurement tools for inclusive mindsets and behaviors across programmatic areas within the department.
  • Track census and global strategic target metrics and provide analysis.
  • Develop and manage internal processes for data collection and analysis.
  • Liaise between Leadership and Organizational Development department and research institutions or constituent groups.
  • Create new surveys and update current surveys as needed
  • Develop research and evaluation strategies
  • Develop curriculum for various programmatic areas
  • Support curriculum and resource development
  • Other measurement and evaluation activities as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Research and evaluation experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong writing and communication skills with outstanding attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the disability landscape globally.
  • Ability to collaborate within diverse teams.
  • Flexible and comfortable working in a high-productivity environment with changing priorities, initiatives, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to identify organizational needs and operationalize solutions.
  • Innovative, adaptable, solutions-oriented.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to make decisions and drive results.
  • High commitment to superior customer service and quality.
  • Servant leader mindset and behavior.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant related educational equivalent(s), or equivalent experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current understanding of Special Olympics Programs, programming, culture, structure, and SOI initiatives preferred.
  • First-hand Special Olympics or other non-profit volunteer experience.
  • Experience working professionally with people from different cultures and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Landscape knowledge of social and emotional well-being research and inclusive mindsets and behaviors framework.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet, Microsoft Office Suite, Power Bi, and Qualtrics.
