Position Summary
The position is responsible for ensuring the timely payment processing of claims, monthly Capitation, and accounts payable. This position also includes payment deposit, assisting the Customer Service and Claims department with payment queues, and daily clerical works as assigned.
Schedule: 8:30 12:30pm Monday thru Friday
Responsibilities
1. Understand, adhere to and implement company and department policies and procedures.
2. Provides excellent customer service at all time internally and externally.
3. Process claims batch payments, monthly capitation payment, and supporting documents timely and accurately.
4. Handle daily incoming mails, phone call, and payment queues from Customer Service and Claims departments.
5. Completes summary of deposits, including copies of checks and deposit slips.
6. Process payment posting with proper GL coding, particular attention to assignment of accounting paperwork.
7. Provide customer service support and conduct research on various returned and exception items and complete actions based on results.
8. Input A/P invoices with proper GL coding and process payment timely and accurately. 9. Interacts with vendors, purchasing and other departments for information, problem solving and research.
10. Assists in special projects and miscellaneous duties, as assigned
Requirements
1. High school diploma required; College level courses in Finance/Accounting desirable.
2. Minimum of 2 years' work experience in accounting environment including A/P and A/R. 3. Experience working in health care and/or managed care industry preferred.
Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to multi-task, organize, and manage time. This includes prioritizing workflow in a complex work environment.
2. Excellent customer service skills with a collaborative, team-based approach.
3. Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Excel and Word-.
4. Accurate data entry, 10 Key and typing at least 45 WPM.
5. Ability to read, write and speak in a clear and professional manner.
6. Strong critical thinking, analytics and problem-solving skills.
7. Knowledge of health care industry, preferably managed care.
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, lift (up to 10 lbs), stoop, bend, etc. in carrying out duties of job.
2. Ability to talk and hear when communicating with customers, in person or on telephone.
3. Reaching for and handling records, files, and reports.
