The SIM Technician serves as an assistant to faculty during simulation experiences for students. Major Responsibilities: Support daily operations of clinical simulation lab Provide technical support to students and faculty Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds Assure facility and equipment are organized and prepared for teaching sessions by preassembly of props, moulage, learning materials, and documentation Assure operation of simulators, digital cameras, video cameras, audio/video mixer, monitors, LCD projectors, and other equipment related to simulation education. Pre-brief students, staff, and faculty Operate simulation console and software, debriefing equipment, and human patient simulator Assist faculty in monitoring students’ safety Provide theatrical support (including moulage and voice over) Provide feedback for improving simulation experience to the simulation coordinator Maintain the Simulation Center as a clean, safe, and operational facility and optimal learning environment Conduct routine equipment maintenance Salvage re-usable supplies and repackage Monitor supply stock; inform simulation coordinator when supplies are needed Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 3 years equivalent work experience Ability to work with various and changing technology Self-directed with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment License in healthcare role (LPN, RN, RT, EMT, paramedic) Knowledge of medical terminology & anatomy/physiology Work hours: 6-10 hour shifts, days vary, weekdays only available Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
