POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Travel Research Nurse, your primary role is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in diverse settings, including Participant Homes/Work/Preferred location or EmVenio's Mobile Research Unit(s). Your responsibilities encompass participant safety, maintaining data integrity and quality, and upholding protocol standards across different therapeutic areas. You will also play a crucial role in assisting Site and/or virtual Principal Investigators (vPIs) in conducting clinical trials according to federal, state, and institutional guidelines. Your involvement spans all trial phases, from pre-study implementation to study closure. Moreover, you will execute study processes and procedures in alignment with the protocol. This position requires frequent travel, both by car and air, often involving overnight stays at various locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Essential Functions:

• Performing pediatric, adult, and geriatric participant visits, ensuring compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and State Board of Nursing regulations.

• Preparing, administering, or dispensing investigational medicinal products, comparator products or rescue medications.

• Collecting, processing, shipping specimens.

• Assisting in coordinating and obtaining clear and comprehensive informed consent from research participants.

• Completing all study-related activities, including supply management and query resolution.

• Maintaining research study accuracy, integrity, and consistency for audit readiness.

• Collaborating with healthcare professionals and engaging with the community to support participant recruitment.

• Conducting mobile unit assignments, home visits, and community engagement activities as needed, including after-hours and weekend commitments.

• Ensuring all study procedures adhere to protocols and regulatory requirements.

• Monitoring participant well-being and managing/reporting adverse events promptly and according to study protocols.

• Accurate and timely completion of study documentation.

• Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.

• Navigates through various modes of transportation, including car and airplane to reach study participants’ homes and EmVenio Mobile Research Units across different locations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Travel Capability: The ability to travel to various locations, including the capability to drive and fly.

• Transportation Reliability: Access to reliable transportation for both car and air travel. Travelers who use their personal vehicle for business purposes must maintain personal liability insurance. Travelers shall provide evidence of such coverage to the Company upon request.

• Physical Stamina and Endurance: Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving equipment.

• Flexible Hours: Adaptability to work varied hours as necessitated by study protocols.

• Strength Requirement: Must have the capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, two (2) years of experience starting and performing phlebotomy, IVs, subcutaneous injections, collecting vital signs, ECG, urine collection, and sample processing. One (1) year of recent clinical research experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Excellent computer Skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with electronic data capture systems preferred.

Certificates & Licenses: Current unrestricted licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) to which the candidate is assigned multistate licensure preferred. Current BLS certification required. ACLS, CITI, GCP, and IATA preferred.

• Flexibility: Recognizes that additional requirements may vary based on the specific assignment and is adaptable accordingly.

• Excellent verbal and written communication.

• Experience collecting, processing, and shipping lab specimen(s) preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily in a mobile clinical environment, and the incumbent may be exposed to body fluids and infectious diseases. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations. There is potential that you may be exposed to infectious diseases including but not limited to: Influenza, COVID-19, RSV, etc. Each clinician is equipped with proper PPE and/or supplies to ensure their safety when handling such potential subjects and/or samples.

The preceding functions may not be comprehensive in scope regarding work performed by an employee assigned to this position classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of this position. Location: Multiple States, dependent on clinical trial location.

Amount of Travel Required: up to 95%

Schedule: PRN/On an as-needed basis

Compensation: $50 - 60/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
