Endeavor Health is Hiring a Clinical Dietitian-Wellness Center (Part-Time) Near Arlington Heights, IL

Position Highlights:

  • Hours: Days; 16 hrs/week. Possibility for additional hours conducting Outpatient Nutritional Counseling
  • Required Travel:

What you will need:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in an approved program in Nutrition/Dietetics, and completion of a one-year internship in Nutrition/Dietetics

2. Current registration as a dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association or eligibility. Must successfully pass Dietetic Registration examination within one year of eligibility.

3. Current Illinois licensure or eligibility.

4. The analytical skills necessary to determine members’ nutritional needs and to develop a nutritional care plan.

5. The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with members, their families, physicians and other department or hospital staff.

6. The knowledge and organizational skills to develop and modify menus to comply with the member’s diet prescription.

7. The verbal communication skills necessary to convey information in a clear, concise manner.

8. The written communication skills necessary to effectively document nutritional assessment/education results and nutritional recommendations.

9. The ability to work with little supervision.

10. The ability to use a computer for storage and retrieval of data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Requires light physical effort. May require frequent periods of standing or walking. May require occasional lifting or moving lightweight material, or rarely lifting or moving average weight material.

2. Flow of work and character of duties involves normal visual and mental attention.

General Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition manager, responsible for the development and implementation of various nutritional services, health and wellness programs that support attainment of strategic objectives by providing nutritional and wellness guidance care for all patient-members of the Concierge practice. Develops nutrition lectures and teaches nutrition classes at the Wellness Center

1. Plans, develops and implements nutritional, health and wellness education for patient-members. Adapts education materials to levels appropriate for members. Assists in the updating and acquiring of resources for educational materials.

2. Performs nutritional, health and wellness screening and assessment. Develops and implements ongoing nutritional care plans based upon the developmental needs of each patient-member. Gathers data of patient-member responses to nutritional intervention. Prepares and completes patient-member records and documentation support according to licensure guidelines.

3. Designs and develops consumer nutrition, health and wellness education programs and/or services targeting current user groups and data collection of risk indicators. Identifies and develops evaluation criteria for assessing effectiveness of these programs.

4. Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development, competency and license as outlined in the position description.

5. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Good working conditions. Typical office working conditions, thought at least one disagreeable element or hazard, i.e. infectious disease, is occasionally present in the environment.
