Vergennes Union High School is seeking a School Nurse (.40 FTE) for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:Current, valid Vermont RN licenseCPR and First Aid certifiedSeveral years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community/family centered nursing Areas of student health care responsibilities include:AssessmentFirst aidHealth screeningMedication administrationAssist in communicable disease controlImmunization assessmentAttend student meetings as necessaryAssessment and care of students with special needsAdditional areas of responsibilities include:Compilation of statistical informationMaintenance of health and medication records/logsAccident reportingMember of the Wellness and Safety TeamsStudent/staff emergency card maintenancePreparation of required state reportsProviding staff and parents with information of school health policies, and other pertinent health resource informationProviding interpretation of health information to staff and parentsPromoting a healthy school environmentA Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
