Job Description: Microchip has an opportunity for a Senior Technician - Engineering at our office in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following engineering activities: Support Engineering Activities including: Design, Test, Check-out, Modification, Fabrication & Assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, RF/Microwave devices and specialized test equipment. Applications include Electronic Circuits, Microwave RF, and Logic Systems. Work from Schematics, Diagrams, Written and Verbal Descriptions, Layouts or Defined plans to perform testing, Check-out and troubleshooting functions. Perform Operation Test and Fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Assist in design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment. Use manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and specialized test apparatus. Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum associates degree in related field with 3-5 years’ experience. Proven track record of excellence in electronics assembly and test. Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings. Experienced in soldering and cable assembly. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain highly organized Comfortable working with cross functional teams Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast paced environment. Strong commitment to teamwork and process High Precision timing, test and measurement experience a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in data collection and analysis.
