QUINTILLION COMMUNITY LIAISON

Purpose

Quintillion seeks to hire a temporary, part-time Community Liaison (CL) in Utqiagvik.

This local representative is critical to the success of the Quintillion because the CL is the direct line of communication to the local residents in the cable landing communities.

Additionally, the CL's will have the important role of supporting Quintillion subcontractors who will be working in these communities to expand the system.

Core Responsibilities

Communicate to the community the specifics of the work taking place in their community.

Maintain knowledge of the scope of work and timelines in the other cable landing communities.

Support grant initiatives that are focused on projects within their community.

Act as the communications waypoint between Quintillion, community members, local leadership and other residents.

Be the listening ear of the community for positive and negative feedback.

Help to organize community gatherings for updates, Q/A sessions etc.

Relay any questions or comments from the community to Point of Contact (POC) at Quintillion as soon as possible.

Report back to President when community issue or concern is resolved.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma is required.

Basic computer experience with using MS Office, internet, and mobile phone applications such to be able to read and respond to emails, review documents and other information online, draft and submit written reports, and prepare and deliver straightforward presentations.

Possess excellent observation skills.

Employ excellent verbal communication skills, and solid written communication skills.

Demonstrate outstanding collaboration and teamwork skills.

Be adept at taking and carrying out direction regarding communication of information both from the community and from Quintillion.

Be comfortable and effective in presenting information to individual and groups of community members.

Demonstrate discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Experience

Two years of work experience that involves working and communicating with the public is required.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in the field with frequent travel within and among neighboring communities for meetings and training.

Time commitment/compensation

The expectation is 10-20 hours per month

Submit a monthly review of activity and feedback from the community

Prioritize quarterly visits from President or CTO or MDM to address the community

$1000.00 per month plus any approved expenses

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, travel by automobile, lift up to 25 pounds, and use office equipment such as computers and phones.

The employee may be required to travel to neighboring communities for meetings or training through personal, company-provided, and public transportation. Must be able to travel occasionally by air.
