Tres LA Group is Hiring an Event Cook Near Long Beach, CA

Summary/ObjectiveAs an Event Cook, you will be responsible for producing consistent quality food products while following all safety, local and state sanitation guidelines. Essential Functions
  1. Responsible for production according to recipes/directions
  2. Assist with food production
  3. Cut and clean a variety of fruits, vegetables, and proteins using a knife and/or cutting machines
  4. Produces food for tastings, lunch, dinner and catered events
  5. Follow food preparation lists and portioning details as instructed by the Event Chef
  6. Follow all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines
  7. Ensures consistent quality on all prepared items
  8. Tastes all food prepared for the station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality
  9. Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  10. Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking various foods
  11. Breaking down and cleaning various proteins
  12. Plating prepared foods based on Event Chef direction
  13. Maintains a clean and organized station and prep area
  14. Follows proper rotation and storage of goods
  15. Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from Health Department
  16. Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment
  17. Close the event kitchen properly by following the closing checklist for kitchen or venue stations
  18. Assist others in closing the kitchen
  19. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
  20. Assist with other duties as assigned by Event Chef

Work Environment
  1. Fast paced kitchen

  4. Exposure to soap and cleaning solutions
  5. Slippery/uneven surfaces may be encountered 
  6. Frequently moving from cold freezer to normal kitchen environment
  7. Be able to stand for long periods of time typically be between 6-8 hours
  8. Always act in a professional manner
  9. Demonstrate teamwork in all areas, including at the event location or kitchen
  10. Always with a positive attitude in all types of situations
  11. Welcome and accept feedback and coaching from the management team in order to maintain and grow as an employee
  12. Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 20-50 pounds
Requirements
  1. Must have and maintain an active Food Handlers Card, as required by the California Health Department.
  2. Neatly groomed and dressed in clean uniforms and appropriate PPE
  3. 1-year minimum experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  4. Great communication skills with managers, kitchen, and event personnel
  5. Availability to work during the week and weekend and holidays
  6. Ability to learn and take direction
  7. Reliable means of transportation
  8. Prompt arrival to all scheduled shifts
