Peaceful Pines Senior Living is Hiring a PRN Nurse--LPN or RN Near Fort Pierre, SD
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
Ensures the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.
Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
Provides on-call backup to community when not on duty.
Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
Ensures that all the needs are met for the residents as well as supervises staff that is on the shift.
Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.
Prepares necessary medical paperwork as needed.
Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.
Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.
Assists Medication Aides and CNAs in service delivery and training as requested.
Notifies DON of any new doctors' orders that are received and inform DON for any med changes.
Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy.
Assist with picking up shifts on an evenly distributed schedule among nursing staff as needed.
May be needed for care conferences and updates care plans in accordance with regulations.
May be asked for input on creating nursing policy by the administrator/DON.
Assists with updates to code book for assisted living and memory care.
Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice.
Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, family (responsible party), and physician of residents change in condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.
Keeps resident family and physician informed of any changes in resident behavior, medications, or conditions of health.
