Pierce County is Hiring a Supported Administrative Associate 2 Near Tacoma, WA

This position is only open to qualified applicants who are active clients of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

This position is through Pierce County's Supported Employment program. This position is open to all qualified applicants who are active clients of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and who currently receive and will maintain long-term employment support from a County-contracted Employment Service Provider

This position is 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Preferably with scheduled work time on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In this role you will support our Human Services Aging and Disability Resources team with many administrative duties and day to day office support. Your initial focus will be on a digitization project, as we move to get our paper files into digital files. Your work will help to keep administrative functions of the office running efficiently and effectively.

Following written, pictorial, or verbal instructions and or procedures will be necessary as you learn and grow in this position.

Your Future in this Role: 

Once you’ve learned the day-to-day duties of this position, you will have opportunities to learn and take on additional tasks. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn about Human Services and the work of the ADR team. This is a position that can grow with you!

Core Daily Responsibilities: 

Tasks may vary depending on skills/experience of the employee

  • General mail support: collecting, sorting notifying appropriate people, filing copies, packaging and sending
  • Updating client information in external database
  • Preparing mailings: printing, stuffing and labeling
  • Digitization of paper records: scanning, renaming and organizing documents electronically
  • New hire packet assembly

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Reading and typing
  • Ability to operate office equipment including scanner, printer, copier and shredder
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to follow written or pictorial procedures
  • Familiarity with basic computer navigation
  • Organized
  • Ability to comply with HIIPA confidentiality requirements
