Peninsula Community Health Services of Alaska is Hiring a Provider Enrollment Assistant Near Soldotna, AK

TITLE: Provider Enrollment Assistant
REPORTS TO: Manager of Payroll, Benefits, Credentialing with oversight by Human Resources
WORK WEEK: 20-25 hours per week/as needed
WAGE CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
OSHA RISK CLASSIFICATION: Low

SUMMARY POSITION STATEMENT
This position is responsible for payor enrollment applications for all PCHS facilities and billable providers. The provider enrollment assistant is responsible for the timely completion of government and commercial payor applications with the oversight of the Manager of Payroll, Benefits, Credentialing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Complete provider and group enrollment for all PCHS sites.
  • Successfully implement the entire enrollment process for all providers, adhering to all timelines while maintaining strict confidentiality for matters pertaining to provider credentials.
  • Coordinate credentialing data needed for enrollment.
  • Effectively communicate with providers to ensure timely completion of outgoing and incoming applications.
  • Maintain provider credentialing files electronically via provider enrollment software and CAQH. 
  • Complete revalidation of previous enrolled providers and groups.
  • Communicate with insurance payers to resolve provider enrollment issues. 
  • Assist with credentialing tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Must act in a confidential capacity assisting Payroll and Human Resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
License: No license required.
Experience: 3 years work experience in office setting. Data Entry/IT experience preferred. 
Job Requirements:

  • Be able to operate computer system and possess advanced computer skills.
  • Possess “people skills” and enjoy working in a health care setting.
  • Must be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office Products and be able to type 45 words per minute.
  • Expected to read and respond timely to emails via Outlook.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to prepare clear and understandable written documentation and communication materials. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with employees when conveying information and resolving issues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse set of employees and with multiple disciplines in both clinic and administrative settings. 
  • Demonstrate initiative and responsibility.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Pass a State required background plus a pre-hire drug screen.
