Who you are:

Our client is looking for an experienced part-time Psychiatrists who has experience working with children of all ages. Experience providing trauma informed psychiatric services to children and youth using evidence-based medical practices within a person centered-framework. Service is aligned with regulations, best practice in care, quality assurance and our client's Mission, Vision, Values, and organizational strategy.

What you will be doing:

  • Report to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures
  • Provide patient centered care - ensure client voice and choice is included in treatment, encourage and support participation in clinical services, provide referrals to internal and external ancillary services geared towards whole health improvement, including social, emotional, mental, and physical health
  • Successfully engage clients, both in person and via telehealth sessions
  • Provide psychiatric services, including initial evaluations, re-evaluations, ongoing medication management
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory/diagnostic tests, coordinate care with primary care physician and specialist
  • Complete all billing and clinical documentation in a timely manner and according to current policies and procedures
  • Comply with Legal Requirements, including:
    • All applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations, as well as licensure requirements
    • All applicable standards of accrediting agencies, including the Council on Accreditation ("COA"); and
    • All applicable standards, guidelines, rules, and regulations established from time to time by the Detroit-Wayne Integrated Health Network ("DWIHN"); the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ("MDHHS"); the Medicaid program, other Center funding sources and third-party payers
  • Complete all required psychiatric reports and other documentation required by professional standards, or any of its funding sources, including, but not limited to DWIHN, MDHHS, Medicaid and third-party payers
  • Participate in monthly case conferences with treatment team members to review status of individual clients and provide treatment recommendations. Participate in client related root cause analysis and case consultations as needed
  • Provide second opinions, when requested by clients
  • Provide training and development to clinical staff, as needed
  • Respond to subpoenas and other legal inquiries, as necessary

Our ideal candidate has:

  • D./D.O. with Sub-specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • License to practice medicine in the state of Michigan.
  • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • 1 years of experience in psychiatry with children, adolescents, and families, preferred
  • Strong children and adolescent diagnostic and treatment competencies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary clinical team
  • Excellent skills in pediatric psycho pharmacology.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid guidelines.
  • Ability to work from a systems perspective.
  • Impeccable integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong vision and foresight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong documentation ability.
  • Proficient in EHR documentation and electronic prescribing.
  • Strong team player.
  • Experienced manager of clinical, psychiatric and psychological staff.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff and peers.
