Host/Hostess Job Description

A Host/Hostess presents a positive first impression of the club’s friendliness, excellent service, and high standards. The Host/Hostess also greets members and guests upon arrival, inform them of their wait time, monitor waiting list, enter guests’ names into computer system, show members and guests to their table and bid members and guests farewell as they leave.

A Host/Hostess must be able to carry natural conversation with Members and their guests without sounding scripted or intrusive. Additionally, the Host/Hostess cares for the members and their guests by refilling beverages and performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glasses and menus and ensures restrooms are cleaned, stocked and orderly. As a member of an energetic team, the Host/Hostess may also need to answer the phones and fill to-go orders when needed. Availability must include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

· Greet incoming and departing members warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus.

· Use visual cues to seat members in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference.

· Inform members of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.

· Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.

· Manage the flow of members into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming members if appropriate.

· Tend to all Members needs and requests.

· Observant to Members needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service.

· Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies.

· Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages.

· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

We are looking for a professional and friendly Host/Host to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting guests, seating them in the restaurant, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a bar or fine dining restaurant and possess excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and orderly dining area.
• Answer questions about menu items and specials.
• Assist with taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables.
• Be knowledgeable about the menu items and specials.
• Handle customer complaints in a professional manner.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
