Fond du Lac County is Hiring a Crisis Intervention Specialist- Pool Status Near Fond Du Lac, WI

Provides Crisis Intervention Services for the Department of Community Programs for week nights, weekends, holidays, and other sick/vacation time coverage as needed for full time Crisis staff. The pool position is required to pick up at least two shifts per pay period not to exceed 39 hours per pay period. Scheduling is flexible and a great opportunity for extra income. Shifts include 2nd shift, 3rd shift, weekends, holidays and occasional day shift. Subject to change as needed.The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Provides direct face-to-face (via walk-in clinic or mobile response) and telephone contact crisis intervention services. Services include evaluation, crisis counseling, information and referral to a wide variety of collateral agencies, families and resources. Crisis Worker is responsible for arranging admission to an inpatient psychiatric facility for individuals subject to Chapter 51 detentions.
  • Responsible for ensuring services provided by the least restrictive and clinically appropriate means and ensures treatment/recovery is in accordance with best practice and professional ethics and boundaries, and code conduct.
  • Provide and arrange for provision of support services and collaboration with other community resources and providers. Evaluate the need for protective services, guardianships and alternative placements. 
  • Provides liaison services between clients and community agencies. Assists clients with referrals to other caregivers, with financial matters, and with other issues as necessary. 
Reports/Records: 
  • Write and maintain progress notes related to a consumer's treatment/recovery plan and assessments and that contribute to an overall understanding of the individual's ongoing level and quality of functioning. 
  • Provide testimony, written/oral reports, and perform any other court-related duties as assigned 
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of all consumer/treatment records. 
  • Determine and review any potential reimbursement by third-party payers when applicable. Follow Wisconsin Medicaid's medical record documentation requirements and covered services as they apply. Bill all allowable services and submit billing as directed 
  • Maintain efficient, timely and accurate completion of required records, reports, and other necessary paperwork within specified timeframes according to rules, regulations and agency policy. 
  • Ensure compliance with Program Participation System (PPS) and other State or Agency systems for data collection.
Training and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
 
Desirable Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of psychopathology and treatment modalities; psychopharmacology and addiction treatment preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and county laws, rules relating to Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities. Ability to conduct interviews and assessments, administer psychosocial evaluations and provide client specific interventions. There is significant interaction with clients, their families, other health care providers, community agencies, and others outside of the department.
