RSU5 Community Programs is seeking a creative and compassionate educator to guide and support its adult learners as they pursue credentials of value. The Instructor supports learners seeking a HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) diploma or studying for other testing batteries such as the ASVAB, CASAS, and Accuplacer. The instructor works with each student to develop an individualized study plan consisting of both in-person and remote strategies and tools. The instructor must be committed to assisting learners set and achieve their goals as they transition to higher education and/or employment. Class size is typically small, allowing for highly personalized work between students and the Instructor, in collaboration with the Adult Education Coordinator and the Director. The educator must be able to differentiate instruction, work with a diverse group, and support individual learning needs. Rate of pay is $25/hr for 4 hours per week.

Requirements:

Must hold a valid Teacher Certification from ME Dept. of Education.
