Reports to: Director of Rooms and Guest Services Managers, position is non-exempt

The Detroit Foundation Hotel has transformed the historic Detroit Fire Department Headquarters into a 100 room independent hotel that adds another piece to the ongoing Detroit renaissance puzzle. The hotel draws on the Motor-City’s unparalleled past while proactively moving the city to its next incarnation as a national cultural, business and artistic touch- point. Featuring an inviting ground- floor restaurant, The Apparatus Room, the hotel partners with local distillers, brewers, farmers and other edible sundry purveyors to deliver and authentic Detroit experience.
WHO YOU ARE
You are someone who understands the smallest details can make the biggest impact. You know hospital corners aren’t just for hospitals, and the perfect crease on a bed sheet makes you smile. When you see a pair of loose shoes, you need to make sure they are perfectly aligned. You love feeling the warmth of freshly laundered linen. It doesn’t matter where you are, you can’t help yourself from refolding the bathroom towels.
THE ROLE
The Private Bar Attendant reports to the Guest Service Manager, working to restock our collated private bars while maintaining the consistent cleanliness and organization of our guest rooms and spaces. It is critical that you possess an eye for detail and can maintain our standards of cleanliness.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Adhere and follow Service Guidelines Responsible for stocking all guest room private bars and maintaining.
  • Private bar inventory.
  • Participate in bi-weekly inventory of all products in the Storage Areas and guest rooms.
  • Keep track of all sales inventories by product to accurately order more products.
  • Keep track of product expiration dates to ensure the highest quality.
  • Responsible for tracking occupied rooms and accurately charging guests for products used.
  • Complete side work assignments given out by manager.
  • Assist in other food and beverage departments when needed.
  • Demonstrate high degree of drive and determination.
  • Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation.
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Attend all required meetings.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hospitality experience, ideally within an upscale, lifestyle, or luxury hospitality company.
  • A passion for the importance of cleanliness, initiative to learn and pride in those we serve.
  • Ability to work well unsupervised.
  • Computer skills helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time to meet high volume business.
  • Ability to lift, balance and carry up to 25 lbs. to transport carts, cleaning supplies, linen, equipment, etc.
  • Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods to clean and organize the guest rooms, spaces, storage, equipment, etc.
  • May be required to work varying schedules that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
