Job Description Title: After School Assistant, Part-Time Reports to: Principal Location: Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School Venice, FL Overview Epiphany Cathedral Catholic School, within the Diocese of Venice in Florida, Inc. works diligently to support and strengthen the Catholic Church and its value system. Job Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the After School Lead, assistants' students individually or in small groups with
Lesson assignments which can include but are not limited to reading stories, listening to students reading, language, spelling, motor perception programs, etc. for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
Implements instructional learning activities for the purpose of improving students' academic, physical and social skills
Maintains equipment, work area, student files and records, takes attendance, checks homework, etc.
Monitors individual and or groups of children in a variety of settings (i.e., classroom, playground, library)
Enforces school rules and procedures for behavior.
Ensures students are safe at all times
Promotes good habits for the purpose of improving the quality of student development
Any other work assigned by Principal or After School Lead
Requirements
Minimum of a High School Degree or GED or equivalent
1-3 years of experience working with children from Kindergarten through Middle School
Excellent communications skills both written and oral
Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs
Ability to use technology to enhance student learning
