Description Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment Services ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY SUMMARY : CALSys Lab - Cal Poly Pomona, Computer Science Department - led by Professor Ericsson Marin is currently searching for part-time employees to contribute with the lab research activities. The lab is offering 1O hours per week positions with an hourly rate of $18.50 and no benefits. Common tasks include machine learning and data mining activities to enhance cyber threat intelligence, as well as the production of technical reports and presentations. The lab personnel usually meet every week to discuss milestones and accomplishments, and both the meetings and the real research work can be done remotely. Those positions are only for Spring 2024 but can be renewed upon satisfactory performance and/or availability of funds. ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Enterprises offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study. The Enterprises also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Enterprises and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Pepsi Scholarship. In addition, the Enterprises administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Enterprises contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona. High degree of problem-solving skills, personal motivation, self-management, and detail- orientation skills.
Interest in being a part of a fun, diverse, team environment and ability to share responsibilities.
Capable of meeting tight deadlines and making progress without direct supervision.
Strong oral and written communication skills
