Andronico's Community Market on Clement is one of San Francisco's newest grocery stores tucked away in the wonderful and eclectic Outer Richmond neighborhood. We offer a wide variety of mainstream staples as well as unique imported offerings and premium items you cannot find at your average market. We put service and quality first, and yet always strive to make the work environment as enriching for our associates as our customers' shopping experience.

We are looking for candidates who can help in our delicatessen AND possibly bakery with shifts varying anywhere from 530am-7pm. Candidates with early morning availability (5-530am) will have highest priority. This is a multi-purpose clerk position so all candidates must be willing to be cross-trained and work in both the deli and bakery departments. Hours range from 24-40 hours a week depending on scheduling flexibility, availability, and other factors. We are looking for someone for at least 4 shifts a week.

You must have a reliable means of transportation to start work at this time to qualify for this position. Must be able to work at least 1 weekend day minimum. We are also a part of UFCW Local 648 union and it is a requirement that you become a union member within the first 60 days of probationary employment.

Deli/Bakery Multi-purpose Clerk:

Provide high-quality customer service, including complying with our Company’s customer service standards, policies and procedures.

• Greet customers and take orders, in person and over telephone, in a friendly manner

. Create a positive and welcoming experience for customers

. Prepare hot and cold deli food and display in deli cases for sale to customer

. Inform customers about our deli products and services, provide food samples, and promote sales within department.

• Operate slicers and other food preparation equipment.
• Prepare deli fruit or seasonal trays for display or special order.
• Use scales and volume measures to apportion product correctly.
• Operate electronic cash register, receive final payment from customer (cash or credit/debit card) and accurately make proper change (rarely).
• Inventory stock, restock, move bulk product from pallets to storage areas, and face shelves of deli cases on sales floor
• Retrieve products for prep/production for both deli and bakery departments
• Take production list and prepare ready to eat sandwiches or bake products for the bakery.

. Maintain area and conduct business in accordance with all federal, state and local weights and measures, food safety and sanitation regulations and company policies, procedures and guidelines

• Perform temperature and tare checks daily.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming policy as defined within company policy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.75 per hour
