Pallet Repair Lead
Pay: $24.00-$26.00
Shift Hours:
1st Group – Monday through Thursday 4:00am to 2:00pm(Must be flexible to work extra hours as needed)
2nd Group –Wednesday through Saturday 4:00pm to 2:00am(Must be flexible to work extra hours as needed)
General Summary:
The Lead Pallet Repair person is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of repairing CHEP pallets that are in need of repair and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity while adhering to CHEP's quality criteria. The Lead Pallet Repair person is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all pallets repaired. Perform other duties as assigned.
Pallet Repair:
Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
Manually lift 70 lb. pallets from a stack to a repair table.
Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets.
Operate a grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and finally, using a 25 lb. nail gun to nail together the components.
Quality:
Pallet must meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit.
Safety and Security:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.
Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
Must be able to follow repair process
Carpentry or construction background is helpful but not required

Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
Comprehend basic math
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
Capable of standing an walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day).
Able to twist, stop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
