WASHINGTON CARE CENTER is Hiring a Transportation Attendant Near Greenville, MS

Transportation Attendant (TA)

Shall work under the direction of and be responsible to the Director of Nursing Services (DON) to provide transportation for facility residents and other duties as required by the DON or Administrator.

Education: Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing. Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.

Qualifications:

1. Have a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license in the state which employed.

2. Must have reliable communication service (cell phone).

3. Must have the ability to organize, plan and supervise care of residents assuring quality is provided at all times.

4. Maintains effective interpersonal relationships.

5. Is of good emotional, mental and physical health having sound judgment and high professional standards.

6. Maintains effective interpersonal relationships and works well with the general public.

7. Maintains a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times. Keeps personal appearance appropriate for resident care.

8. Has a desire to work with the geriatric clientele as well as residents of any age and their current and prospective needs.

9. Must be in the facility ready to begin assigned duties on time and as scheduled.

10. Must be willing to work preferred shifts as scheduled and assist on other shifts as needed.

11. Must demonstrate ability to function as a cooperative team member with each member of the Nursing Department and other departments.

12. Must display ability to adapt to on-the-job training and adhere to standards of the facility providing personal care services, assisting residents, caring for equipment and supplies and developing good understanding of basis of aseptic and sterile techniques.

13. Must be able and willing to function appropriately in a disaster or evacuation of the facility.

14. Must demonstrate ability to follow direction of supervising staff.

15. Must have a pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening examination as required by the state in which employed

Responsibilities: The Transportation Attendant (TA) works to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished. This list is only partial and should not be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks and responsibilities.

1. Work with nursing staff to schedule doctors’ and other medically related appointments and handle arrangements for those appointments.

2. Drive the facility van to transport residents to and from their medical appointments, activity outings, and other assignments as needed.

3. Work with nurses to make sure that proper medical paper work is provided and in order for all residents going out on medical visits/appointments.

4. Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident inquiries. Refer all complaints and/or incidents to the facility DON or Administrator.

5. Maintain safety and comfort of residents as much as possible during transportation.

6. Keep a detailed log of time spent on transportation outings.

7. Maintains a van mileage log for each outing.

8. Responsible for routine van maintenance and upkeep including scheduling of routine service checkups.

9. Keeps Licensed Staff informed of pertinent information timely.

10. Assists other staff members as needed throughout the shift. Cooperates with other personnel to be sure residents are of prime importance to all members of the staff.

11. Maintains safe environment at all times, wiping up spills, maintains van cleanliness, picking up articles as noted, etc.

12. Reports immediately to supervisor situations involving abuse, neglect, or suspicion of a crime.

13. Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, HIPPA Standard, and Computer Usage Agreement

14. Performs any other tasks as assigned by the facility Director of Nursing and/or Administrator

15. In case of an accident or emergency, call 911 and notify the facility Administrator.

Professional Requirements:

1.Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.

2.Completes educational requirements per policy.

3.Maintains regulatory requirements.

4.Occasional travel/overnights required for training, professional meetings, emergencies, and evacuations.

5.Reports to work on time and as scheduled.

6.Wears identification while on duty.

7.Must work throughout all areas of the facility.

8.Completes work in designated time frames.

Regulatory Requirements:

Valid Mississippi Class D Driver’s Licenses to operate passenger van.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Experience:
