Attic Angel Community is Hiring a Benefits & Leave Coordinator (Part Time 32-hours per week) Near Madison, WI

Attic Angel is looking for a Benefits & Leave Coordinator responsible for administering employee benefit programs, facilitating leaves of absence and overseeing workers' compensation claims. This position will be part time (32-hours per week) and FLSA-Exempt.

Essential Job Duties (in order of Priority):

(60% Benefits Administration and Maintenance)

  • Responsible to administer all employee benefit programs. This includes health, dental, life, vision, retirement plan, short term disability, long term disability, flex spending, EAP, time-off benefits, tuition assistance, on-demand pay and any other programs that might be added in the future.
  • Performs a benefit review annually to determine the competitiveness of Attic Angel's total benefit package. Ensures reporting and filing requirements are met such as ACA, 5500s, and EEO. Makes recommendations for changes and carrier proposals to the HR Director.
  • Responsible to communicate changes in benefit cost or carriers to employees, HR staff and Payroll.
  • Responsible to lead any open enrollment period, This includes education to staff and processing of staff enrollment requests.
  • Reconciles benefit bills by providing finance with new enrollees, terminations, and changes.
  • Manages Cobra communication to new and terminated staff in a timely manner Manages Cobra payments and tracking.
  • Responsible to ensure that any FTE changes which affect benefit accruals are correctly updated in the HR, Payroll and Timekeeping systems.

(20% Manage Employee Leave of Absence Request)

  • Manage Family medical leave and Leave of Absence employee requests and paperwork. Responsible to ensure timely response to employee requests, that all paperwork is adequate and that Attic Angel is following the laws and regulations in regards to FMLA.
  • Determines eligibility and processes all leave paperwork for each case.
  • Interprets and coordinates leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Ace, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Short-Term and Long-Term Disability etc.).
  • Ensures that all leave programs are maintained in accordance with applicable leave laws.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for each employee for the duration of their leave.
  • Ensures confidentiality of employee medical & leave records maintained and ensures continued compliance with HIPAA Privacy laws.

(20% Worker Compensation)

  • Responsible for the oversight of medical and indemnity claims, including proactive communication and coordination with the injured worker, supervisor, medical provider and claims adjuster to ensure efficient and timely claim closure.
  • Analyze workers' compensation data to identify trends in injuries, identify potential solutions and provide feedback to leadership on how to mitigate.
  • Ensure compliance with state workers' compensation regulations, identify any gaps in compliance, provide recommendation on solution and work with internal and external counsel, HR, and Health & Safety team and other identified stakeholders to implement solution.
  • Liase with employee, medical provider and supervisor to promote safe return to work aligned with temporary medical restrictions.
  • Reviews incidents for OSHA recordability and assists with annual OSHA and BLS reporting and compliance.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience and/or training in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits Administration or related field preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
