McNeal Professional Services is Hiring a Public Affairs Specialist - Part Time Near Cheyenne, WY

We are looking to place a Public Affairs /Media Specialist with the Federal Government in Cheyenne, Wyoming on a part time 20 hours per week for 5 years, 1,000 hours each year contract. McNeal Professional Services, Inc. is a 22-year National Wireless Engineering and Staffing Services firm. Description: Public Affairs /Media Specialist

  • Provide customized media and public relation services such as the development of media messages and strategies;
  • Provide recommendations of media sources for placement of campaigns;
  • Prepare media materials such as background materials, press releases, presentation and press kits, and speeches;
  • Approach journalists with story ideas;
  • Create and maintain media lists;
  • Execute media programs, including social media presence;
  • Conduct press conferences;
  • Schedule broadcast and/or print interviews;
  • Provide crisis communications assistance;
  • Train agency personnel to deal with media and media responses;
  • Conduct follow-ups with respect to media interviews as requested, including fact checking and follow-up notes to journalists;
  • Other related duties within scope as assigned work.

QUALIFICATIONS - Public Affairs /Media Specialist

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in media relations, campaigns, marketing, and coordinating efforts at the local, state, or federal levels.
  • Experience working with federal, state, or local governments or entities.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing data, drafting speeches, conducting media surveys and analysis, and developing national, local, and district-wide campaigns.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
