Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in the field of Respiratory Care from an accredited college or university required.
• Must hold Registry Credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as well as hold a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the state of North Carolina.
• The following certifications are also required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
• One to two years of hospital experience is preferred.

About the Job:

• Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. 
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. 
• Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. 
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. 
• Typically reports to a manager. 
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
