Music Director for BEST - Summer 2024

Position: Music Director for Matilda, Jr, Burlington Educational Summer Theater

Description: 

• Oversee musical aspects of production.
• Participate in auditions, tech rehearsals, and enforce musical instruction; 
• Collaborate with director and choreographer on casting, instruction, and scheduling
• Conduct music rehearsals, including warm-ups and teaching music to cast.
• Help supervise cast of youth actors; 
• promote an environment based on working as an ensemble, taking creative risks, and having fun. 
• Accompany rehearsals on the piano
• Production includes 4th-8th grade students
• Production period: July 8 - July 26 (weekdays, 7:30am-3pm). 
• Performances July 26, 7:00 pm and July 27, 2:00 pm
• Production meetings before the rehearsal process begins. Auditions in May
• Lead strike and clean up the orchestra pit after the closing performance 

Requirements:

• Ability to play piano is highly desirable. 
• Must have stamina to teach a large group of kids for 6 hours per day

Compensation:

$3000
